Movile Cave

Movile cave is the only place on earth like mars habitat. It was discovered by the Cristain Lascu in 1986. This cave is in Romania, Constanta Country, near Mangalia. It is highlighted for its rare isolated ecosystem. The air inside is totally opposite from the actual atmosphere. The oxygen level is found extremely in low density (7-10%) rather as compared to usual level is (21%) in air. It also contains superior level of hydrogen sulfide in both air and water. The cave consist of hundred times more carbon dioxide then the actual one. The most part of Movile cave is covered by the layer of clay, which is impermeable to water.

There is complete absence of sunlight but the most strange part of the story is that, despite the darkness and harmful gases, life do exist ! So far 48 species have been discovered, 33 of them have not found any where else yet. It's seems that animals of Movile cave live without any source of food. On surface, plants use sunlight to survive, they surely can't exist without using
photosynthesis to live as there is no light. How they get the source to survive in least friendly environmental conditions? This question is still a mystery. Many of insects are born without eyes and most of them having extra long antennas to feel the way among dark.
The Romanian government allowed just few dozen selected scientists to visit inside the cave. Since 1986 only about 30 scientists came down until now.
