Kalavantin Durg fort India

This fort is located in Mumbai, India known as Kalavantin Durg. It is at a height of 701 meters i.e. 2300 feets. It had been built at the top of a straight mountain. The route to reach this fort is very dangerous. Many of us are not aware of this place because people had created a thought in minds that usually these type of places are for ghosts.

Kalavantin durg had been built in order to give honour to a queen of ancient times know as Kalavantin. Stairs had been built by cutting this straight mountain from sides but the stairs are very much dangerous because there is not support and there is always a risk of slipping while climbing these stairs. There is a natural stream of water that falls from top of the mountain and the water reaches the surface by the same stairs. Although the route to reach this fort is very dangerous and there is no safety for tourists but still there are people who risks their lives to reach this fort and in trying to do this, many of them had died. It takes almost 5 hours to reach this fort.

According to the people who had climbed this mountain  safely, after reaching this fort, you can have a view of full Mumbai. If you are a fan of climbing mountains, you should visit this place but at your own risk.
