Reason behind Invention of First Roller Coaster!!

Roller Coasters were invented to protect Americans from Satan!!
In 1881, La marcus Thompson, Hosiery Businessman realized that world is changing but not in a batter manner. People were finding amusement in wrong ways that is they were tempted by hedonistic places like saloons and brothels, that were harming the society’s norms and values. So he set out to straighten up one of the most immoral places he could think of: Coney Island in New York.Thompson was assured that he will find a way to provide people with better amusement facilities. He wanted to give people a new kind of thril. He was influenced by the idea of carts and carraiges that were used in coal mines for tranfer of materials, and their tracks were quite interesting to him. So he decided to bring something totally new for the people of America to experience. He sold out his hosiery business, although it was risky for him as he was quite successful in that business but he was determined to put Americans on a right track. He drew the design for a 600 feet long and 50 feet high switch back ride. In his mission to save America from satan he built it in an island know as  Coney Island that was famous for imoral activities. There, he built America’s first roller coaster to give New Yorkers some good, clean fun—away from seedier pastimes.
