The Super store Apples can be 6 to 12 months old...

Those fresh apples you see at store market everyday might not be that fresh. Yes! It sounds weird but this is the truth. The Apples that are sold in the super market or grocery stores can be a year old. They are usually plucked from the trees between August and November then wrapped in wax, passed from the hot air to dry them and then sent in to the cold storage. Then finally after 6 to 12 months they arrive at our grocery store’s racks. In the US, wax is applied on the apples to increase the shine and Restore the moisture , and then apples are dried in hot air. They pass along a assembly line and two cameras picture them; the Pictures are seen and observed by computer for consistency of colour, shape and size. The fruit is Graded on the basis of their quality and then placed in trays accordingly by machine - then put into the boxes and are weighed. Then apples are placed into cold storage and it makes the apples, sleep for 6-12 months. The apples are taken by careaige or some transport to the supermarket.
